1. GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION

Avigdor is located in La Paz Department, 150 km away from the City of Paraná. 
Avigdor has got a small hamlet with 300/400 inhabitants. 
It's a small location and as well as in the rest of the area unemployment rate is one of the most serious issues (invisible unemployment- sub-employment). Santa Elena, well-known location due to its huge unemployment rate caused by the closing of an old but very important cold-storage plant, is situated in the same area. CERIDE is at present preparing a plan of re-activation. 
It's like a small town, once prosperous due to its rural activities but that now, looks like lingered in time. 
With a strong and well-known Jewish identity, Avigdor keeps strong bonds with the rest of the community and we can say there is very good inter-religious cohabitation. This is a very important and positive aspect due to strong identity ties that play a major role in favour of this initiative.
